At the height of the Covid-19 lockdown in Uganda, he took it upon himself to ensure that young people and other community members around the capital, Kampala – who would have otherwise not been able to collect their antiretroviral medication from health facilities because of movement restrictions imposed by the government to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus – did have access to their medicines. His name is Kuraish Mubiru, Executive Director of Uganda Young Positives, an organisation that co-ordinates and mobilises young people living with HIV around prevention, care and support services in Uganda, and a member of MenEngage Uganda.
