MenEngage(MEA) and YIELD Hub share a commitment of creating spaces where youth and adults engage as equal partners. This dialogue builds on earlier collaborative learnings from the HEARTH Wellbeing Summit in Senegal (2024), where YIELD Hub was invited by Tostan to conceptualise, lead, and moderate an intergenerational dialogue on SRHR. This dialogue aims to foster a conversational and reflective space that moves beyond formal presentations to shared storytelling and solution-building.
By bringing MEA’s wide grassroots network and YIELD Hub’s structured action learning and global convening approach together, this intergenerational dialogue will contribute to advancing strategies that capacitate young people, strengthen youth–adult partnerships, and position youth leadership as central to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Objectives of the dialogue
- Create a meaningful space for intergenerational exchange on gender equality, SRHR, and the SDGs.
- Identify key barriers and opportunities for stronger youth–adult partnerships in civil society.
- Showcase practical models for youth leadership and participation beyond tokenism.
Expected Outcomes
By the end of the dialogue, we expect to:
- Capture diverse youth and adult perspectives on advancing gender equality, SRHR, and the SDGs.
- Produce a clear set of insights on barriers and opportunities for stronger youth–adult partnerships.
- Share models of meaningful youth leadership and participation that can inspire wider practice, with selected insights featured in the MEA-led OpEd and YIELD Hub’s learning platforms.
