MenEngage Malawi – Sub-regional Representative: Southern Africa
Emmanuel Namponya is a Malawian development professional with expertise in project management, youth leadership, strategic communication, and gender and social justice advocacy. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, alongside qualifications in Strategic Communication and Graphic Design, and professional certifications in Leadership, Social Accountability, and Monitoring for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). He currently serves as Chairperson of MenEngage Malawi Youth and as Malawi’s Representative to the MenEngage Africa Steering Committee, where he contributes to strategic decision‑making, regional movement building, and policy direction on gender equality, youth participation, and inclusive governance across Africa.
Emmanuel is also the Programs Manager at Young Voices Organization, leading program planning, implementation, and stakeholder engagement to ensure impactful programming. His previous roles include Research Assistant at Ipas Malawi and Programs Coordinator at Umodzi Youth Empowerment, experiences that strengthened his background in research, advocacy, and youth programming. Actively engaged in advancing SRHR through policy advocacy, public education, and strategic communication, he contributes to national and regional dialogue on gender equality and youth engagement. Having participated in multiple capacity‑building programs on gender‑transformative approaches, leadership, and HIV programming, Emmanuel remains committed to inclusive development, accountable governance, and meaningful youth participation at national, regional, and international levels.
